Cobble Hill Fair

The Cobble Hill Fair is a beloved one-day country fair in the South Cowichan community of Cobble Hill, presented by the Shawnigan-Cobble Hill Farmers' Institute and Agricultural Society. Now well past its hundredth year, it is one of the region's oldest agricultural fairs and a highlight of late summer in the Cowichan Valley. The fairgrounds come alive with livestock and horse shows, a popular sheep-to-shawl demonstration, home-craft and agricultural exhibits, a midway, food vendors, live entertainment and dozens of community and artisan booths. Families come for the animals, the competitions and the classic fair atmosphere, while local growers, 4-H members and hobbyists display produce, flowers, baking, preserves and handmade goods. It is a genuine, volunteer-driven celebration of rural life and a great way to experience the farming heritage of the Cobble Hill, Shawnigan Lake and Mill Bay area. The 117th Cobble Hill Fair takes place Saturday, August 22, 2026 at the Cobble Hill fairgrounds. Admission is charged and typically includes access to all exhibits and entertainment for the day.
