VanIsleNet is a Vancouver Island business directory and community events calendar. Every listing is a real, local business — we check each one on its own website, so what you find here is accurate, current, and actually local.

We built this because the Island deserves better than being an afterthought on the big platforms. No call centres, no scraped listings, no pay-to-play algorithm deciding who gets found. Every business is ranked the same way, and Featured supporters are always clearly labelled — just real Island businesses, verified by a real person, alongside the markets, festivals and fairs that fill our calendar year-round. We're not the biggest list; we aim to be the one you can trust. Is it free to list my business on VanIsleNet?

Yes. A standard listing is free and stays free — a real person verifies every business on its own website, so yours appears accurate, current, and genuinely local. An optional Featured upgrade adds photos, a labelled spotlight, and homepage rotation, but never changes search rankings.

How do I list or claim my Vancouver Island business?

Head to the Get Listed page to add a new business, or open your existing listing and choose “Claim this listing.” Once an admin approves it, you manage your own description, photos, hours, and contact details.

Which areas does VanIsleNet cover?

All nine regions of Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands — from Greater Victoria and the Cowichan Valley through Nanaimo, Parksville–Qualicum, the Comox Valley and Campbell River, out to the Pacific Rim and the North Island.

How are businesses verified?

Every listing is checked by a real person against the business’s own website, and we only add businesses that publish a public contact email. No scraped listings, no call centres.
