Privacy
Short version: we collect very little, and we never sell any of it.
What we collect
If you subscribe to our newsletter, we keep your email address. If you claim a listing or submit an event, we keep the contact details you give us so we can follow up. Our web server keeps standard technical logs (IP address, pages visited) for security and troubleshooting, as virtually every website does. We do not run advertising trackers.
Website analytics
To understand how people find and use the directory, we keep privacy-first, cookieless analytics: aggregate daily counts of listing views, the general source of a visit (for example a search engine, a social network, or another website), the broad region a visit comes from (province or country level), and the type of device used (such as mobile or desktop). This information is stored only as combined totals — we set no cookies for it, we do not store your IP address or browsing history for analytics, and none of it identifies you. Because of this, we don’t show a cookie banner.
Payments
Listing subscriptions are processed by PayPal through Design Menu, VanIsleNet's parent company. Your payment details go directly to PayPal — we never see or store card numbers or banking information. PayPal's own privacy policy governs that data.
What we don't do
We don't sell, rent, or trade your information to anyone. We don't send marketing email you didn't sign up for. Every newsletter includes a way to unsubscribe, and unsubscribing works immediately.
