About this event

Ukee Days is Ucluelet's big community celebration — three days of small-town, west-coast summer fun that fill the village fairgrounds every July. In a town better known for surf, storms and the wild edge of the Pacific Rim, Ukee Days is when locals and visitors come together for a weekend that is pure Ucluelet: friendly, salty and a little bit quirky. It is the kind of hometown festival that shows off the character of one of Vancouver Island's favourite coastal communities.

The program mixes classic small-town traditions with west-coast flavour. A Saturday parade winds through town, amateur logger sports celebrate the coast's working roots with axes, saws and log-rolling, and a hearty pancake breakfast fuels the crowds. Add famously silly contests like the gumboot toss, live music on the stage, food trucks and an artisan market full of local makers, and there is something happening for every age all weekend long. It is relaxed, affordable and genuinely community-run, with the easygoing atmosphere the west coast is known for.

Ukee Days also makes a perfect anchor for a Pacific Rim getaway. Ucluelet sits at the southern end of the Long Beach stretch, minutes from the surf, the Wild Pacific Trail and Pacific Rim National Park Reserve, and a short drive from Tofino. Come for the festival and stay for the beaches, the hiking and the seafood. Bring layers for coastal weather, settle into island time, and enjoy one of the west coast's most down-to-earth summer weekends.
