About this event

The Filberg Festival is one of Vancouver Island's premier arts-and-crafts festivals, set on the beautiful heritage grounds of the Filberg Heritage Lodge and Park in Comox. Held every BC Day long weekend, it gathers a juried roster of talented artisans and makers from across the Island and beyond, whose booths fill the lawns and gardens of this waterfront estate for three days of browsing, buying and discovery. For many Islanders it is a cherished start-of-August tradition and one of the best places anywhere on the coast to find original, handmade work.

The setting is a huge part of the magic. The nine-acre Filberg property, with its 1929 heritage lodge, mature trees, flower gardens and views over Comox Bay, turns the market into a stroll through a park rather than a row of tents. Alongside the shopping you will find continuous live performances on the festival stages, a lineup of food trucks and concessions, artisan food and drink, and activities that keep the whole family happy. Single-day and full-weekend passes are available, and the relaxed, garden-party atmosphere invites you to linger — pack a blanket, catch some music, and take your time. It pairs perfectly with a Comox Valley long-weekend getaway: the marina, beaches, breweries and restaurants of Comox and Courtenay are all minutes away, and the festival sits right on the waterfront. Arrive with room in your bag and cash for the makers; you rarely leave the Filberg without finding something special.
