Cumberland WinterFaire

The Cumberland WinterFaire is the Cumberland Museum and Archives' largest annual fundraiser and one of the Comox Valley's most beloved holiday markets, held over two days on November 28 and 29, 2026. Across three downtown venues - the museum, both floors of the Cumberland Cultural Centre, and the Cumberland Recreation Institute - more than seventy-five artisan vendors set up shop, filling the village with handmade gifts, homemade food and festive music. Thousands of visitors come through over the weekend to shop for one-of-a-kind holiday presents, sample seasonal treats and soak up the warm, small-town Christmas atmosphere. A weekend wristband gives access to all of the participating locations, letting shoppers wander between them at their own pace. Admission is by donation, with a suggested contribution, and all proceeds support the Cumberland Museum and Archives and its work preserving the coal-mining and cultural heritage of the region. Running from mid-morning to late afternoon each day, the faire is an easy, family-friendly way to start the holiday season while supporting local makers and a community institution. Cumberland's compact, historic downtown, with its independent cafes and restaurants, makes it simple to turn a visit into a full and cheerful winter day out.
